World Cup 2014
World Cup 2014 was the 20th FIFA world cup. The hosting honor rewarded to Brazil and the tournament took place from 12 June to 13 July 2014. It was the second time for Brazil to host the world cup, first one was in 1950. Also it was the fifth time for South America to gather the world with this tournament in one of its countries.
Brazil in addition to thirty one national teams competed for the world cup 2014 title in 64 matches that held in 12 different stadiums in most of the Brazilian cities. FIFA started to use the goal-line technology in this contest for the first time. They also used the vanishing foam for free kicks. Brazil received around 1 million visitors from more than tow hundreds countries to support their national teams participating in Brazil world cup.
All the title winners since 1930 (Argentina, Brazil, England, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Uruguay) were qualified to play in Brazil and compete for the world cup 2014 competitions. Each one of those teams (except Germany, Argentina) was eliminated among the path of the tournament. Spain ,world cup 2010 champion, was eliminated in group stage with England and Italy. Brazil the hosting country lost in the semi finals against Germany with a surprising result 7-1.
Final Match Between Big Teams
The final match put each of Germany and Argentina face to face to compete for the title. The match ended 1-0 for Germany which make Germany achieved its fourth title. Germany was the first European team which was able to win a world cup in the Americas. It was also the first time that one Continent could win the world cup title for three times in a row (Italy 2006, Spain 2010, Germany 2014).
The world cup 2014 witnesses the return of Costa Rica, Croatia, Ecuador and Iran after missing world cup 2010. Bosnia and Herzegovina made their World Cup debut.

World Cup Competition is one of the most watched events in the whole planet. World Cup 2010 was the 19th one which has been hosted in South Africa from 11 June to 11 July 2010. South Africa has been selected by FIFA to be the first African county to host World Cup.

Ten Stadiums in nine cities hosted the whole tournament matches. The number of the participated teams in World Cup 2010 were thirty two divided into groups. Four teams in each group. The tournament system allows first two teams with highest points in each group to proceed to the next level (knock out rounds). There were few knock out rounds where the winner will proceed to the next round until reaching the final match.
Road To The Finals
The final match was between Spain and Netherlands. The road of both teams to the final were relatively similar. Netherlands finished the group stage on top of its stage with the full points 3 winning matches. Spain collects six points of its three matches and finishes also on top of its group.
Netherlands defeated Slovakia (2-1) in the round of 16 while Spain defeated Portugal (1-0). The quarter finals match of Netherlands were pretty harder when they faced Brazil; the match finished (2-1) while Spain defeated Paraguay in the same round (1-0). In the semi finals Spain won with same result (1-0) against Germany while Netherlands had a big won on Uruguay (3-2).
It was the first time for both teams in the finals of world cup ever. Spain won the match in the extra time with Andrés Iniesta’s goal in the 116th minute which gives Spain its first world cup title and at the same time it was the first time a European national team won a world cup title outside of Europe.
